Technology Overview
Rural Japan faces real challenges. Communities are getting smaller and older. Budgets are tight, and there are fewer people to do the work. We believe practical technology can help small teams do more with less, stay safer, and stay connected in places where traditional infrastructure does not reach.

Right now, our main platform is Meshtastic - an open source mesh network that lets people share GPS positions and text messages without cell coverage or subscriptions. We sell Giteki-certified devices that are ready to use in Japan, and we are building Karida Cloud to help teams manage their devices and data through a simple web interface.
But our technology story does not stop at Meshtastic. Every time we work with a new community - hunters, farmers, outdoor schools, rural neighborhoods - we discover use cases we had not thought of before. Rural areas are full of problems that can benefit from smart, affordable digital tools, and exploring these areas is one of the most exciting parts of what we do.
We work across four areas that each serve a different part of the puzzle:
- IoT Sensors: Devices that collect and share real-time data from the field, from GPS trackers to environmental sensors
- Location Insights: Tools that turn location data into something useful, from position tracking to team coordination
- Open Source: We build on open source foundations and contribute back, because reliable technology should not depend on a single vendor
- Consulting: Hands-on support to help you explore what technology can do for your situation
