Japanese Herbs
Japanese herbs—called 和ハーブ (wa-haabu)—are an important part of daily life in Japan. People have used these plants for many years to make teas, home remedies, tasty meals, and even gentle skin care.

Some well-known Japanese herbs are yomogi (mugwort), shiso, and dokudami. Each one is special and can be used in simple ways. For example, yomogi is often added to sweets and warm baths, shiso leaves can add a fresh taste to salads or rice, and dokudami is used for making tea.
Using Japanese herbs is a nice way to feel closer to nature and take care of yourself. You can grow some of these plants at home, or sometimes find them in parks and fields. It’s easy to start, and even small steps can help you feel better and enjoy new flavors.
We enjoy sharing how these herbs are used in everyday life. If you are interested in learning more, or want to try making teas or other simple things with Japanese herbs, please check out our herb workshops!
